Things you need to know:听
- Starting June 15, 2026,听instructors and course builders will see a prompt to enable听听for their Brightspace courses or keep the default Classic Content experience.听

Beginning with the听fall 2027 semester,听New Content Experience听will be the default content design in Brightspace.听New Content Experience is a more modern, intuitive design for the Content area of Brightspace courses. Since the Content page is the most used tool by faculty and students, the update brings听improvements and better usability to Brightspace courses.听New Content Experience provides听better听support for mobile devices for students听and an improved听instructor workflow for adding materials to courses.听
New Content Experience can be enabled by听instructors and other course builders on a course-by-course basis. It is important to note that no content is lost when switching between Classic and New Content Experience. The only change is how that content is displayed. Instructors and other course builders will have the听option听of switching to听New Content Experience in courses throughout the 2026鈥�27 academic year. The first time one of these users visits the Content page in a course,听a notification听will听give听these users the option to enable听New Content Experience for that course.听
During this transition period鈥攁nd听once the default Content view has been changed鈥攊nstructors and other course builders still control what Content view they听have in their courses. These users can decline to switch to听New Content Experience for the 2026鈥�27 academic year, and starting with the听fall 2027 semester, they听can听change back to听Classic Content view as needed on a course-by-course basis.
