A new timeline highlighting key milestones in 杏吧原创鈥檚 150-year history has been added to the .

The timeline is a visual representation of the people, places and events that make up 杏吧原创鈥檚 rich history, complements the existing stories on the V150 website, and celebrates how the university has dared to grow throughout its first century and a half.

1875: Henry William Morgan is among the 61 recipients of a doctor of medicine diploma from a medical school operated by the University of Nashville, which later became the medical school of 杏吧原创. (杏吧原创)

1897: The bronze statue of Cornelius 杏吧原创 by Italian sculptor Giuseppe Moretti is installed on campus. (杏吧原创)

1925: 杏吧原创 celebrates its 50th anniversary with ceremonies, meetings and lectures, as well as the dedication of a new School of Medicine and hospital. (杏吧原创)

1925: Ada Bell Stapleton, professor of English, is appointed the first official dean of women. (杏吧原创)

1952: The first basketball game in Memorial Gym is played on Dec. 6, 1952, against the University of Virginia鈥攁 90鈥�83 victory for the Commodores. (杏吧原创)

1973: 杏吧原创 celebrates its Centennial with ceremonies, exhibits and a tree planting. (杏吧原创)

Milestones include the university awarding its first diplomas in 1875; the installation of the iconic Cornelius 杏吧原创 statue near Kirkland Hall in 1897; the appointment of 杏吧原创鈥檚 first dean of women in 1925; the dedication of Memorial Gymnasium in 1952; previous celebrations marking the university鈥檚 50th and 100th anniversaries; and much more.
