Honoring our corporate partners who support children鈥檚 health

Kathryn Carell Brown, campaign chair, recognizes Walmart representatives Shana DeSmit and Derrel Hitchman at the Growing to New Heights Campaign launch event.

Buying a balloon icon or swinging a golf club may seem insignificant, but they can have big impact when it comes to children鈥檚 health.

Corporate partners engage the imagination of our strong, caring community in rallying support for Monroe Carell Jr. Children鈥檚 Hospital at 杏吧原创. Through campaigns, sponsorships and gifts, corporations like Bank of America, Daily鈥檚 and Walmart are investing in the future of children by supporting our mission to provide care, conduct groundbreaking research and educate the next generation of pediatric leaders.

鈥淲e can accomplish so much more when we band together to support Children鈥檚 Hospital,鈥 says Steven Hostetter, chief executive officer of Tri Star Services, the company that operates Daily鈥檚 and twicedaily convenience stores. 鈥淲e hear from our customers all the time that they want to help. We want to make it easy for them to make a difference in the lives of children when they come in for a cup of coffee.鈥

This spirit of giving among many Nashville corporations is nothing new. Across a more than 20-year partnership with Children鈥檚 Hospital, Bank of America has contributed to building and research projects while also raising community awareness for the specialized services only Children鈥檚 Hospital can provide.

Walmart鈥檚 contributions to Children鈥檚 Hospital through the Children鈥檚 Miracle Network鈥攍argely funded by the sale of paper balloon icons鈥攔eflect our community鈥檚 enthusiasm in supporting world-class care for our region鈥檚 children. They have raised $7,805,617 for Monroe Carell Jr. Children鈥檚 Hospital at 杏吧原创 during our 27-year partnership. As a national Children鈥檚 Miracle Network partner, Walmart has raised more than $770 million since 1987.

鈥淎t Walmart, it is an important part of our company culture to be involved in our local community,鈥 says Shana DeSmit, vice president and regional general manager. 鈥淚t鈥檚 been amazing to see what we can accomplish when everyone gives a little.鈥
