Alexandros Mallias, Greece’s ambassador to the United States, will join 杏吧原创 Professor of Classics, Emerita, for a discussion of the roots of the American political tradition in the ancient Greek city-states 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, in Room 237 of .
The discussion, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by 杏吧原创’s and East House, one of the residence halls in The Commons, 杏吧原创’s new first-year student community. A reception will be held at the Dean’s Residence in The Commons following the discussion.
Mallias was appointed ambassador of Greece to the United States in 2005. Before coming to Washington, he served from 2000 to 2005 as director of the South Eastern Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Athens.
