In what could be called ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s version of American Idol ñ only without the ill-tempered judge and a recording contract prize ñ University and Medical Center employees will audition Thursday, August 14, for the chance to sing the national anthem at the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´-UT Chattanooga football game Saturday, Sept. 6. Dwayne Sagen, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s director of bands and an assistant dean at the Blair School of Music, will serve as one of the four judges for the audition, along with representatives from ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Athletics, Medical Center and University administration. The auditions will begin at 10 a.m. on the terrace of Rand Hall located on ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s main campus. The event is part of ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s Employee Celebration Month ñ a series of activities and events scheduled throughout the month of September to honor the dedication and commitment of ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ employees.

WHERE: Rand Hall terrace located on ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s main campus.
WHEN: Auditions will be held Thursday, August 14, 10 a.m. to approximately 12:30 p.m. (auditions will begin at 10 a.m. and singers have 10 minutes each to perform)
